PLACE CHARLES III

Creation and execution of a permanent installation on Place Charles III in Nancy.

The paving stones bear the effigy of the Duke of Lorraine, Charles III, after whom the square is named. The 1,300 paving stones are laid along the diagonals of the square, the main traffic routes.

The portrait pattern of Charles III is in relief so that the image appears frosted against a shiny background thanks to the passage of pedestrians over the paving stones.
